Laurie Freitag’s work moves between the recognizable and the abstract, beginning with photographs of landscape, plants, water, architecture, and fragments of everyday life.

The Tidal Garden is rooted in photographs made during her travels, with much of the work influenced by the tropical colors and coastal landscapes she encountered in Florida. Freitag transforms the photographs primarily through changes in color and shifts in perspective, using the Perspective tool to stretch and reshape elements already present in the original image. She does not add new imagery or build the photographs in Photoshop. The process allows familiar landscapes, architecture, water, and botanical forms to move toward abstraction while remaining photographic at their core.

Freitag’s work is available for licensing for hospitality, healthcare, corporate, and other interior projects.
